This past fall, I had opportunity to watch a pre-screening of The Mighty Macs movie, before it hit the theaters. I shared my thoughts on it here (along with the full description).Recently, we received the movie on DVD, and I was excited to get to share it with Brian this time. Right on the front of the DVD case it says “If you loved Hoosiers and Rudy, you will love The Mighty Macs!” (this quote is from the real-life Rudy – Rudy Ruettiger) Those are two of Brian’s all-time favorite movies (I must admit that the rest of us tend to cringe when he pulls them out to watch, as we’ve seen them SO many times!)
As predicted – by both Rudy and me – Brian loved it. In fact, when we sat down as a family the next night, he said “Let’s watch that movie we watched last night. I really liked that.”
If you like movies based on real life – especially those centered on sports of some sort – then you will surely enjoy The Mighty Macs too.
